SaaS engineering for teams shipping their first real version
The machinery a SaaS needs before its second customer — multi-tenancy, roles, billing — built early enough that it is not a rewrite later.
What this domain does to the build
The stack is broadly the same everywhere. These are the parts that are not, and they are usually where an estimate goes wrong.
- Multi-tenancy has to be in the data model from the start; retrofitting tenant isolation means touching every query
- Billing, plan limits and proration are their own product, and always larger than they look
- An enterprise deal can arrive before you are ready, and it will ask for SSO, audit logs and role separation
- Runway means the architecture must be cheap to run at ten users and able to reach ten thousand
What we typically build here
- Multi-tenant data model and workspace scoping
- Subscription billing with Razorpay, Cashfree or Stripe
- Role-based access control and admin console
- Usage metering so pricing can change without a rebuild

The constraints are usually recognisable even when the domain is new to us. Describe them and we will say honestly whether we are the right team.
